Letsema process

Sibanye-Stillwater understands that the processes of healing and socio-economic development require meaningful engagement, participative social planning and the collaboration of all stakeholders. Implementation of this engagement process – the Letsema process – is being facilitated by ReimagineSA.

The Letsema engagement process calls for an inclusive approach to social and community facilitation through collaborative engagements that will ensure the delivery of tangible and sustainable benefits for all stakeholders. This engagement process effectively enables all stakeholders to come together to collectively shape a new legacy.

Founded in 2016 by a team that includes Dr Mamphela Ramphele, ReimagineSA seeks to embed Ubuntu in daily interactions. Using the Letsema Process, ReimagineSA facilitates trust-building conversations that promote an inclusive and collaborative approach between parties to ensure the delivery of tangible and sustainable programmes for the benefit of communities and beneficiaries.

Pitso I: Honouring the lives of the fallen

Through a series of Pitsos, a Sotho word for ‘traditional assembly’ or ‘gathering’, we collaborate to develop an integrated approach to facilitating social cohesion amongst all stakeholders. The Pitsos are aimed at bringing people together to work for the common purpose of the renewal of Marikana.
