6th Annual Marikana Commemoration Lecture

At our 6th Annual Marikana Commemoration Lecture Sibanye-Stillwater CEO Neal Froneman, along with the Archbishop of Cape Town Thabo Makgoba, keynote speaker Advocate Geoff Budlender SC, and Sibanye-Stillwater CEO Designate Richard Stewart shared insights on the lessons the mining industry and the country can learn from the Marikana tragedy.
Keynote Speaker
Advocate Geoff Budlender was formerly the senior evidence leader at the Farlam Commission. He was a founder of the Legal Resources Centre and has been recognised in South Africa and internationally for his outstanding contribution to social justice. In 2024 he was honoured with the George Bizos Human Rights Award. Previously he was awarded the prestigious International Bar Association Pro Bono Award and an honorary doctorate from the University of Cape Town.
